Old Fourth Ward

Commonly known as O4W, Old Fourth Ward is one National Historic Landmark that has been recognized in African-American History as it was where Martin Luther King Jr. was born. Today, it is surrounded by other trendy neighborhoods in Atlanta and is experiencing its own rebirth with the restoration of historic homes and building of new condos and loft apartments. Several restaurants and retail stores likewise abound with a booming artistic community. Young professionals are attracted by the arts and nightlife while enjoying the sense of community. In particular, the Ponce City Market is considered its crown jewel being the biggest redevelopment project in Atlanta.
