Cabbagetown

Cabbagetown is located on the east side of Atlanta and it also has a rich historical heritage. It’s historic district, Cabbagetown District, has been listed as one of the Historic Places on the US National Register. It is where the first textile processing mill in the south was built, namely the Fulton Bag and Cotton Mill. Now, the neighborhood is a community of shops, restaurants, and art galleries. The single-family homes have been fully restored and the mill converted to lofts that are popular among the young adults as shops are at a walking distance. Other diverse individuals get attracted by its artsy, resilient, and hip community. Meanwhile, long-time residents still get together at the Savannah Street Neighborhood House.
